Jordon Lake State Recreation Area
relaxing in a cove, listening to the sounds of water rippling. Then, you feel a
firm tug on your fishing line. It's going to be a big one! Picture the surface
of the lake glistening, water spraying your face, the boat motor ahead roaring.
Suddenly, your skis give way? a splash landing! Hear the laughter of children,
smell burgers roasting over a charcoal fire, feel a breeze blowing through the
campground. With almost 14,000 acres of water, all this and more is yours to
discover at Jordan Lake. The NC Division of Parks and Recreation operates nine
recreation areas on the lake? Crosswinds Campground, Ebenezer Church, Parker's
Creek, Poplar Point, Seaforth, Vista Point, Robeson Creek, New Hope Overlook,
and White Oak Recreation Area. Whether you're looking for fun in the sun or an
evening under the stars, Jordan Lake offers it all. We offer locations,
Crosswinds Campground, Parker’s Creek, and Poplar Point.
Jordan Lake State Recreation Area is located in Chatham County, 21 miles southwest of Raleigh off US 64, and can be reached via NC 751 or US 15-501 from Durham and Chapel Hill.
The park address is not listed on any GPS system.

Jordan Lake gates are closed and locked at park closing time. There is no entry or exit after park closing time.
Crosswinds - Opens on Monday, March 25.
Crosswinds Campground offers 134 sites have water and electric hookups. Each site includes a picnic table, grill and lantern holder. Showers, restrooms, trash containers and a dump station are conveniently located.
Crosswinds Area A – All non-electric
Crosswinds Area B – All with electric, 1 handicap site
Crosswinds Area C – All with electric, 1 handicap site
Parker's Creek –
Loops 1, 2 and 4N are scheduled to re-open Monday, April 22, 2013.
Loops 3 and 4S are scheduled to re-open Monday, May 13.
Parker's Creek offers 250 sites for RV and tent camping; 120 sites have water and electric hookups. Each site contains a picnic table, grill and lantern holder. Showers, restrooms, trash containers and a dump station are conveniently located.
Poplar Point –
Loops B, C, E and F are open for camping.
Loops G, H and J are scheduled to re-open Monday, May 13.
Poplar Point offers 579 sites for RV and tent camping; 363 sites have water and electric hookups. Each site includes a picnic table, grill and lantern holder. Showers, restrooms, trash containers and a dump station are conveniently located.
Loop 1 - 25 electric, 1 handicap

Loop 3 - 27 electric, No handicap
